grandMA3 User Manual » Timecode
Version 2.1

Timecode is a time signal used to let off the recordings of a playback or trigger cues.

This time signal can either be generated using an external source (SMPTE), (MIDI), or (Art-Net) timecode, or it can be generated internally using the console.

The grandMA3 can receive up to 8 external timecode signals at the same time.

These timecode signals are located in Timecode Slots.

To edit the default timecode settings:

  1. Press Menu.
    The menu pop-up opens.
  2. Tap Preferences and Timing.
The Preferences and Timing window opens.
  3. On the left side of the window, tap Timecodes.

Here are the default timecode settings:

Preferences and Timing window

Tap Record Remote Event to define whether playback actions are recorded. When enabled, all remote events are recorded regardless of the Timecode Events Recording from status setting.

To define which user actions will be recorded, tap Global at the bottom left side of the Preferences and Timing window, then tap Timecode Events Recording from:

  • All Users: Records the playback actions from all others.
  • Single User: This setting records only the playback actions from the user who started the recording. It is the default setting. When a different user is already recording in the same timecode show, the timecode editor window displays a dark yellow record button.

For more information about the different settings, see Timecode Settings.
